There are plenty of reasons for you to choose an automatic car over a manual car. The main reason people choose to learn in an automatic car, it has less controls to master. Another reason there is no clutch pedal, the clutch can be a very tricky thing to master in a manual car.
Most people would rather drive automatic car and not have the worry or stress over the clutch control. In traffic an automatic car is less physically demanding than a manual.
Automatic car driving lessons are becoming more popular. Most new electric vehicles are semi or fully automatic. For the future we believe these vehicles will take over and become the norm.
If you have a physical disability, you may feel you will not be able to drive. Driving a manual car may seem impossible. The clutch and the gears can be hard work, the answer could be an automatic car.

Our instructors only teach in an automatic, they will make learning to drive a positive experience. We only have fully qualified DVLA approved instructors who will help you to get your automatic licence. They all follow the DVSA code of conduct. We try to make all our lessons professional and relaxed as possible.

We teach in manual and automatic cars, at Bell Driving School, but we have dedicated automatic instructors. We embrace automatic driving car lessons, as we see it as the future of driving in the UK.
The services we are offer are, pay as you go lessons, block booking, and intensive driving courses.
In 2017-2018 around 14% of all tests were taken in an automatic car. This figure is rising each year. At Bell driving school around 50% of all enquiries are for an automatic car. With this demand, we are always trying to cover more areas.

Typically, in an automatic car you would need fewer lessons than a manual car. Without seeing you drive it is hard to say as everyone is different. After a few lessons your instructor would be able to give you their opinion on how many lessons you would need.
